Concerning the "Seems like something very bad happened on Twitter that caused a lot of artists to migrate [...]"-bit: Twitter is 'just being Twitter'. It was a dumpster fire back when it was still 'officially' called Twitter and it is one now.
And since the community is one of the main causes for this, Bluesky will become the next Twitter. In all regards. So that will be the next platform to see a mass-exodus. Unless artists stop moving with the herd, this will always happen to them.
Your Mastodon account may look tiny right now, but all signs I've seen so far tell me "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king." so I fully expect it to have its time in the limelight at some point. Mastodon has its issues, but those seem more conceptual in nature: Joining the Fediverse makes no sense. To anybody. The whole concept is flawed.

hey, thank you for checking out my post!
i will admit that i'm a little put off by Mastodon simply due to the fact that i barely know anyone to follow there (and i don't know too many artists to keep up with there), but i do agree with the concerns about Bluesky becoming "the new Twitter" (both in a positive and negative sense). i dabble in online security and privacy, and from what i've gathered, Mastodon does seem like one of the more user-privacy respecting social media platforms out there (especially compared to crap like Twitter and Facebook and whatnot), so I'll look into being more active there eventually <3
it's a little sad that Twitter still has a ton of users (though admittedly i still keep up with posts there here and there), with the platform's leader being, erm how should i put it, "an absolute doofus". despite Bluesky's flaws, i do hope that more users (not just artists!) migrate over there and/or at Mastodon sooner or later
